kcalIngredients
3–4 sweet potatoes (evenly shaped)
2 tbsp butter, melted
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
3–4 sprigs fresh thyme (or rosemary, parsley, or oregano)
½ cup (45 g) Parmesan cheese, grated
1 garlic clove, minced
Directions
- Prepare the Sweet Potatoes
Wash and peel the sweet potatoes if desired, then slice them thinly using a mandoline or a sharp knife. Try to keep the slices even in thickness so they cook uniformly. - Season and Coat
Transfer the sliced sweet potatoes to a large bowl. Add the melted butter, salt, black pepper, thyme sprigs (or herbs of choice), grated Parmesan cheese, and minced garlic. Mix thoroughly with your hands, gently separating the slices so each one is evenly coated with butter, seasoning, and cheese. - Arrange in the Baking Dish
Layer the seasoned sweet potato slices neatly into an ovenproof skillet or baking dish, arranging them upright or slightly overlapping for a decorative look - Bake Covered
Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / 360°F for 25 minutes. This step allows the potatoes to soften and cook through. - Bake Uncovered Until Golden
Remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 215°C / 420°F. Continue baking uncovered for another 25 minutes, or until the top is golden, slightly crispy, and the potatoes are tender when pierced with a knife.
