16 oz sour cream
1 packet taco seasoning or 3 tablespoons taco seasoning
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
Tortilla chips, for serving
Directions
- Add the sour cream
Place the sour cream into a mixing bowl, creating the creamy base for the dip. - Mix in the taco seasoning
Add the taco seasoning to the sour cream. Stir until the seasoning is evenly distributed and the mixture is smooth and well blended. - Add the shredded cheese
Pour in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Stir again so the cheese is spread throughout the seasoned sour cream. - Drain the tomatoes and chilies
Open the can of diced tomatoes with green chilies and drain off the liquid. Removing the excess moisture helps keep the dip thick and creamy. - Combine and stir
Add the drained tomatoes and green chilies to the bowl. Give everything a good stir until fully combined. - Serve
For an easy presentation, set the dip in the center of a larger bowl or platter and arrange tortilla chips around it for dipping.

Notes
- Draining the tomatoes well is important—extra liquid can make the dip runny instead of thick and scoopable.
